Job Purpose
The Regional Gender Coordinator will play a key role in leading the Project Management Unit, coordinating the implementation and ensure quality delivery of the project “Enough! Women, girls and boys to take positive action in ending SGBV in Ghana, Liberia and Mali” which is funded by the European Union. The project is being implemented by a consortium of Oxfam Denmark, Oxfam in Ghana, Oxfam in Liberia, Foundation for Community Initiative, WiLDAF/Ghana and WiLDAF/Mali. Most of the implementation is carried out by local civil society partners through a financing mechanism for third parties in the three beneficiary countries. The position will ensure coordination and cross learning among the three countries as well as working closely with Oxfam Denmark who holds the contract with the EU. The coordinator will be the main point of contact with the EU delegation in Ghana who manage the contract on behalf of the EU.
The Role
Key responsibilities and tasks include ensuring quality of design, implementation and monitoring of the project, including overseeing annual planning and reporting and ensuring high quality, timely deliverables and compliance with all Oxfam and EU requirements and standards; ensuring direct and close collaboration and support to implementation of WiLDAF Mali; in collaboration with monitoring and evaluation project staff, ensuring development and implementation of the monitoring and evaluation framework to track progress and report; facilitating some key activities according to the project implementation plan, for example, leading on learning exercises and building linkages across all three countries; providing guidance and feedback to the PMU staff on project design, implementation, monitoring and performance; support and build the capacity of ENOUGH project teams, and partners, to design, implement, monitor and evaluate the project; coordinating and participating in relevant country visits and regional forums to provide technical assistance and share experiences and learning; servicing the project steering committee.

Required Skills or Experience
What we are looking for:

We are looking for a strong team leader with a minimum of five years’ relevant work experience in coordination and/or international development especially related to gender justice issues who is able to engage with multiple teams with cross country coordination.
Be comfortable with working within a multidisciplinary, multi-cultural team.
Have strong knowledge and understanding of gender (including ending gender based violence), power relations, women’s rights, and at least working knowledge of the project issues in West Africa (particularly Ghana, Liberia and Mali)
Experience in project management and monitoring is essential with strong individual planning and organizational skills with ability to prioritise, coordinate, control and forward plan several tasks at the same time, without supervision and within tight timing constraints.
Fluency in English and French required – written and spoken.
Experience with EU projects and delivering capacity building interventions a strong asset.
